The FireShield 9kg M28 Dry Powder Class D Fire Extinguisher combats a range of general metal fires including magnesium, aluminium, potassium, sodium, and calcium which are found in many commercial and industrial settings.

The 9kg M28 fire extinguishers is supplied with a low velocity applicator (LVA) which helps to reduce the spread of burning powder or swarf to allow the user to extinguish the fire safely and effectively.

Ideal for use in workshops or laboratories where there is a risk of metal fires.

Do your extinguishers come fully serviced and ready to use on delivery?

All our portable fire extinguishers are supplied ready for use, but those with larger capacities may need to be filled and charged prior to the first time they’re used. The product listing will explain this clearly.

How often should fire extinguishers be serviced?

Fire extinguishers must be serviced every 12 months, this is known as the “basic service”. This service should be performed in accordance with British Standard BS5036-3 and conducted by a third-party, appropriately trained technician.

What type of fire extinguisher do I need?

This depends entirely on what you are trying to extinguish, below are some examples of fires you could encounter.

Class A – Solid Combustibles (wood, paper, cloth etc.)
